EASE OF MAINTENANCE

The long service life of the fuel, oil and air filters saves you trips to the workshop, so you can use your machine for longer. The oil and fuel filters are grouped together and located on the right-hand side of the machine for easy maintenance. The air intake filter with pre-filter has twice the dust retention capacity of the previous air intake filter. Check the oil in the hydraulic system and easily drain water from the fuel system, as well as water from the fuel tank at ground level. Monitor your excavator's filter life and service intervals via the in-cab monitor. The new optional engine oil sensor keeps track of oil levels, allowing you to speed up your daily maintenance procedure. The hydraulic oil filter offers improved filtration performance, as well as non-return valves to keep the oil perfectly clean when the filter is changed. What's more, its service life is extended to 3,000 hours (50% more than previous filter designs). The high-efficiency hydraulic fan features an optional automatic reverse function to keep bundles free of debris, eliminating the need for operator intervention. S-O-SSM ports simplify maintenance and enable fast, easy sampling of liquids for analysis.

Thanks to the machine's high fuel efficiency, you stay focused on the task in hand, and on the budget. The Cat C7.1 engine gives you plenty of hydraulic power to work with different types of material. High bucket capacity means fewer passes and faster material movement. Get up to 15% more digging force thanks to a larger bucket and increased arm strength compared to the 330 model. Adapt the excavator to the job in hand with two power modes: Power and Smart. Smart mode automatically adapts engine and hydraulic power to excavation conditions, providing maximum power when needed and reducing power when it's not, to save fuel. The high-efficiency hydraulic fan cools the engine on demand to reduce fuel consumption; an optional reverse function makes it easier to keep beams clean. Optional self-sharpening Advansys™ bucket tips increase production and reduce costs. Auxiliary hydraulic options give you the versatility you need to operate a wide range of Cat equipment. Don't let temperature get in the way of work. This hydraulic excavator offers high ambient temperature cooling capability to 50°C (122°F) and cold start capability to -18°C (0°F).

EASY TO OPERATE

Start the engine with the pushbutton. Program each joystick button, including power mode, response and pattern, using the operator identifier; settings are retained for all your subsequent jobs. Moving the hydraulic excavator is even easier with the Cat Arm Steering option. Simply press a button and use one hand to move forward and turn, instead of two hands on levers or two feet on pedals.
